Pacific Hills Christian School

Pacific Hills Christian School was founded in 1979 as Pennant Hills Christian School. It started with eight students and one teacher in two rooms rented from Lutanda Children’s Home, Pennant Hills.

The following year enrolments had grown to 41 students with a staff of two. 1981 saw the commencement of secondary education and the enrolment of the first students with disabilities into mainstream classes. In 1985 Dr Boyce commenced as Principal. The School moved to its current site in Quarry Road Dural and was renamed Pacific Hills Christian School in 1986. This year also saw the first Year 12 HSC group graduate from the School.

Hills Adventist College

Hills Adventist College has a proud heritage within the Hills District as a provider of quality Christian education for nearly 60 years. Over those years of service to the community the College has sought to graduate students with a Christ-centred faith, the knowledge and skills for a wide range of future pathways and a positive sense of the satisfaction that arises from service to others. The education needed today is future-focused and therefore comprises more than the acquisition of knowledge and skills, as important as that will be. The future calls for personal characteristics; qualities that will stand the test of time, which are valued by parents, caregivers, employers and the community. Hence our strong commitment to nurture and model our core values—Respect, Excellence, Compassion, Integrity and Hope.

St Scholastica’s college

Welcome to St Scholastica’s College, an independent school for girls in Years 7-12. Our day and boarding school – affectionately known as ‘Schols’ – has been educating young women for 140 years, instilling values which have their foundations in both the Catholic faith and the inspiration of the parable of the Good Samaritan in the Gospel (Luke 10: 25-37).

We proudly describe our College as a ‘school like no other’. We do so because we believe our educational offering – through innovation and evidence-based continual development – nurtures young women to become citizens who will make a difference to the world. Some elements of a Schools education are subtle; others are strongly grounded in academic achievement and personal growth, aiming to develop young women who are resilient, just, compassionate, balanced, wise and who are well equipped for an ever-changing and challenging world.

It is a great privilege to be able to contribute to the development of a young girl’s growth into a great young woman and in my role, I have the joy of seeing girls achieve amazing things each day.

St Paul’s International College

St Paul’s International College was founded in 1986 by the Sisters of St Paul de Chartres. This Order, founded in France in the late 17th century, has a long history of promoting academic excellence.

Formerly known as Aurora College, St Paul’s was renamed in 1998. The College crest bears the Latin motto omnibus omnia, meaning ‘All things to all men’. This phrase, taken from the First Letter of St Paul to the Corinthians, emphasises the need for tolerance, openness, understanding and kindness towards one another, regardless of cultural, social, racial or religious differences.

Our long history gives us guidance for the coming years, we will continue to provide an excellence in modern education while maintaining high college values at our core.

St Marouns College

The first female Maronite Congregation, The Maronite Sisters of the Holy Family, was founded by Patriarch Elias Howayek, Rosalie Nasr and Stéphanie Kardouche, on 15th August 1895. Historically the Maronite Sisters of the Holy Family was ‘founded for’ the ministry of educating village girls. The Congregation from the very beginning was focused on the needs of the times, committed to educational, humanitarian and spiritual service.

The Congregation is deep-rooted in the Antioch Syriac Maronite Church and is open to the universal Church. It perceives the needs of the Lebanese and Expansion while serving all, in the Body of Christ. The wave of immigrants from Lebanon hit Australian shores, beginning in the late 1800s and steadily increased in the latter half of the 1900s. Many later Maronite migrants wanted to preserve their Maronite faith and tradition. As a result, the Sisters were sent to Australia in 1968, settling in Sydney, and have since then established two K-12 Colleges, a child-care, and a pre-school as well as two aged care facilities.

Mcdonald College

The College has a proud tradition and history, dating back to 1912 when Ann McDonald, then only 12 years of age, arrived with her family from Falkirk in Scotland and settled in Shepparton, Victoria. This Scottish tradition has been carried through to the College uniform, which features the McDonald tartan. Ann had ambitions for a singing career and was recommended to the Conservatorium in Sydney. She moved to Sydney in 1925 and in order to finance her singing lessons she established a small studio to teach the ballroom and Scottish dancing that she had learnt as a child in Scotland. The classes grew and within a year Ann had taken a lease on premises in Ashfield and established The Ann McDonald College of Dancing. Her love of performing inspired all who came in contact with her. Ann McDonald and her husband John Butt founded and operated the Ann McDonald College of Dancing until 1970, during that time Ann McDonald was President of the Federal Association of Teachers of Dancing for fifteen years and her husband John was Honorary Treasurer and together they were involved in the performing arts for more than fifty years. On the retirement their daughter, Margaret Markham, took over the College. After a period of time, Ann Fraser and Maxine Sullivan (Kohler) became partners. It had long been a desire of Ann McDonald and John Butt to achieve recognition for the performing arts in education. In 1983, their daughter saw the opportunity of establishing a specialised academic and performing arts school for gifted children. Margaret Markham, Ann Fraser and Maxine Kohler, in support of this exciting and innovative development, agreed to change the Ann McDonald College of Dancing from a private company into a community based, not-for-profit company limited by guarantee, thus facilitating the establishment of The McDonald College Limited. The McDonald College commenced with 75 students in 1984 and since then has grown from strength to strength.

The Pittwater House School

Pittwater House is an independent, non-selective, non-denominational school offering a private school education for students from pre-school to Year 12.

The School is located in Collaroy, on Sydney’s picturesque Northern Beaches, and is run coherently in three divisions:

  • The Junior School: Early Childhood Centre, Junior Girls’ College and Boys’ Preparatory School
  • The Girls’ College: Year 7 -12
  • The Boys’ Grammar School: Year 7 – 12

We deliberately keep classes sizes small so teachers can give each child attention. In this way, teachers gain an in-depth understanding of each child’s talents, interests and needs.

We are able to cater to every student’s learning needs and help them maximise their potential.
